The La Salle College High School Water Polo team clinched its second consecutive Pennsylvania State championship playoff berth with a 4th Place finish at this past weekend's Pennsylvania Eastern Conference Championship at Souderton High School. The team played well in all three games with highlights being a 19-10 win over Perkiomen Valley High School and pushing #1 seed Governor Mifflin School to the limit before eventually falling by four goals. Over the three games, senior Ian Thompson '11 led the Explorers with 12 goals followed by junior Eric Shultz '12 with 9 goals. Junior goalkeeper Matt McCrudden '12 held back 36 shots. The Explorers begin their quest for a State Championship with an opening game vs North Allegheny High School at 8:00 pm Friday night at North Penn High School.

The La Salle Water Polo Team honored 1st Lt Travis Manion, USMC '99 in what has become a traditional service project for the team. Working with the Travis Manion Foundation, the team created 300 care packages for the troops stationed at Camp Manion in Iraq.
