Six Wrestlers Advance To PIAA State Tournament In Hershey; Mazzi '11 Wins Southeastern Regional Championship

The La Salle College High School Wrestling Team will be sending a school-record six wrestlers to the PIAA AAA State Individual Tournament to be held in Hershey beginning Thursday, March 10th. The six wrestlers qualified by finishing in the top four in their weight-class at this past weekend's PIAA AAA Southeastern Regional Tournament.
Joey Mazzi '11 defeated Quakertown's Scott Wolfinger to win the 130-pound Regional Championship and improve his record to 48-4 this season. This is the 3rd straight year Mazzi has advanced to the PIAA State Indivudual Tournament. He finished 7th in the state at 135 pounds last year.
Joining Mazzi in Hershey will be Matt Cimato '12 (140), Casey Kent '12 (145), Shane Springer '12 (160), Nick Burns '11 (171) and Ryan Geiger '11 (285). The six-wrestlers are the most La Salle has sent to Hershey since joining the PIAA in 2008.
