The La Salle College High School participated in the USRowing Youth National Championship on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tennessee from Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June, 12, 2011. La Salle had two crews place in the top 3 of their divisions.

The La Salle Lightweight Eight placed 2nd in the Men's Lightweight 8 C Division Final. The boat consisted of coxswain James Breslin '12 and rowers Frederick Mischler '11, John Dwyer '12, William Risko '13, Colin Rothwell '11, Kyle Dierkes '11, Stephen Obermeier '11, Andrew Shafer '11, and Michael Vecchione '11. The crew beat boats from Detroit, Brookline, Chaminade, and Sarasota in the final race.

The La Salle Heavyweight Eight placed 3rd in the Men's Heavyweight 8 C Division Final. The boats consisted of coxswain A. Weinrich and rowers P. Eble, J. Delaney, D. Ezzo, M. Maginnis, N. Shafer, G. Thiers, and R. Ward. The crew beat boats from Sarasota, Canisius High School, and Orlando in the final race.

The USRowing Youth National Championships featured more than 1,500 athletes from high school and junior rowing programs across the country competing for national titles in 18 boat classes. USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic Committee as the governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States.
