Wrestling Team Wins 4th Consecutive Catholic League Championship

The La Salle College High School Wrestling Team defeated Father Judge 37-27 on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 to win their 4th consecutive Catholic League Championship.

La Salle trailed 19-18 but won seven of the final nine matches to with the championship. In addition to winning their 4th straight title, the Explorers have also won five of the last seven PCL wrestling team championships.

It's the first league title for La Salle head coach Richie Gebauer who took over this year for Pennsylvania Hall of Famer Vic Stanley.

La Salle finished undefeated (10-0) in Catholic League matches this season and will now face Public League Champion Northeast High School Friday night at 7 PM at La Salle. The Explorers have won the last three PIAA District 12 team championships.
