Rowing Team Wins Gold Medal at 2012 City Championships
The highlight of the day was the Gold Medal performance of the second varsity eight (Stroke seat – Tim Bontempi, 7 seat – Rob Moore, 6 seat – Ryan Ward, 5 seat – Tom Walker, 4 seat – Sam Farris, 3 seat – Carlos Diaz, 2 seat – Kevin Lindsay, Bow seat – Jack Newell and Coxswain – Sam Vecchione).

The La Salle College High School Rowing Program had one of its best performances in years at the Philadelphia City Championship Regatta held on the Schuylkill River May 6, 2012.
This is among the largest high school regattas in the country with over 525 boats entered from 70 schools.

Overall, LaSalle entered eleven boats in the competition with six of the eleven making the grand finals. Of the boats that made the Grand Final, the following medals were earned:
Second Varsity Eight- Gold
Varsity Lightweight Eight - Silver
Varsity Eight - Silver
Novice 8 - Bronze
