The La Salle College High School Cross Country team capped its season in impressive fashion by finishing 5th at the PIAA AAA State Championship at the Hershey Parkview Course.

Having overcome numerous obstacles throughout the season the Explorers finished marked their third top 5 State finish in the last 5 years (the only 5 years in the PIAA). The team was led by senior captain Tom Coyle who ran the fastest 5k time at Hershey in school history of 16:12 to finish 11th place overall, and scoring just 6 points for the team.

Also earning a State Medal with a top 25 finish was fellow senior captain Andrew Stone. Andrew ran his finest high school cross country race ever to bring himself in 23rd place overall in a personal best of 16:28 to score just 14 points.

Next across the line for La Salle was the tough race of another senior captain, Jack Magee. Jack came home in an impressive 17:00 which was good for 67th place overall and 36 team points. Following Jack was yet another clutch race from senior Evan Quain.

Evan continued his streak of outstanding, gritty racing to run 17:11 to place 84th. Evan's excellent run scored just 45 team points. The 5th and final Explorer was junior Brendan Bilotta, who ran 17:49 to place 161st overall and score 84 team points. The five La Salle runners 5th place team finish marks what is believed to be the best finish in the history of the PIAA for 5 individual qualifiers from the same team.
