La Salle IT Office Presents Keynote at Philadelphia Area Independent School Business Officers Association Conference

On April 25, 2013, La Salle College High School’s Chief Information Officer, Mr. Peter Sigmund ‘85, MCSE, and Network and Website Administrator, Mr. Braden Bonner ’07, MCP, presented the keynote address at the Philadelphia Area Independent School Business Officers Associationmeeting of technology directors. The presentation entitled ‘Preparing Your Students for the Technology Demand of Today’s Workforce’ discussed the use of Microsoft technology at La Salle and its integration into the IT curriculum as well as the overall academic curriculum. The main focus of the presentation was an explanation about the implementation of the IT Academy Program at La Salle, the impressive success rate of La Salle students on Microsoft Server Certification Exams, and the unique, award-winning Student Lab Manager Program.
After the presentation, Mr. Sigmund and Mr. Bonner conducted a panel discussion on the benefits of using unified Microsoft technologies both in the classroom and on the network infrastructure to better enhance overall instructional outcomes. They also shared information with area schools regarding access to free software and solutions to make their educational environment more successful.
