La Salle Tennis Reaches 2nd Round of PIAA State Playoffs for First Time in School History
La Salle College High School defeated Harriton High School 3-1 to advance to the second round of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Team Tennis Championships in Hershey, PA for the first time in school history.

La Salle College High School defeated Harriton High School 3-1 to advance to the second round of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Team Tennis Championships in Hershey, PA for the first time in school history.

In singles play, Christian Lutschaunig defeated Jabari Stafford 6-1, 6-1 and Pete DeWitt defeated Aaron Lazar 6-0, 6-0. In doubles play, John Neufeld and Mike O'Connor won 6-3, 6-4 and Mitch Abramo and Charlie Newell lost 6-0, 6-0. R.J. Napolitano was leading in his singles match 6-4, 3-1 when play was suspended due to La Salle's win.


In addition to the team's success, Christian Lutschaunig won the PIAA District 12 AAA individual singles title against R.J. Cherry from Central High School and the team of R.J. Napolitano and Pete DeWitt won the PIAA District 12 AAA Individual doubles title against Central High's R.J. Cherry and Tyler Cherry. John Neufeld and Mike O'Connor placed 3rd by defeating the doubles team from St. Joseph Preparatory. Lutschaunig, Napolitano and DeWitt will now advance to the PIAA Individual Tennis Championships May 24th in Hershey.
