On Tuesday, October 14, 2014, the freshman class (Class of 2018) at La Salle College High School participated in Freshmen Branch-Out Day. The 295 students, along with 140 of their fathers and over twenty members of school's faculty and staff, performed a day of service at nineteen different sites in the Philadelphia Area. This year marked the 12th consecutive year that the freshman class at La Salle College High School has "branched out" in service to the community. In total, over 450 members of the La Salle community provided over 1,350 hours of service to these organizations.

The service at these sites included painting, light constriction, cleaning, and various other duties. Each group spent approximately four hours at their site (9:30 am to 1:30 pm). At the end of the day, participants returned to La Salle for a prayer service and reflection. The day concluded with a discussion about the integral role community service plays in the Lasallian mission and a challenge to the freshman to find their role in that mission.
