The La Salle College High School Cross Country team placed 10th in the PIAA State Championship on Saturday, November 1st in Hershey, PA. The team's finish marked the 6th time in the 7 years La Salle has been a member of the PIAA that the program has finished in the top 10 in the State, making the Explorers one of only 4 programs with such a record (North Allegheny, West Chester Henderson, and Council Rock North are the others). The team had entered the season unranked, and only had 2 weeks during the entire season ranked in the top 10.

The team was led by senior captain Sean Princivalle who ran gamely to place 63rd overall in a solid 16:54 for the hilly 5k course. He was followed quickly by junior Eddie Goebel in 69th with a time of 16:58, and senior captain Ryan Mitchell in 17:03 for 80th. Unfortunately sophomore Steve Paul entered the final straightaway in 75th but collapsed several times before valiantly crossing the line in 17:46 for 181st. Following Mitchell to the finish line was sophomore Brendan Price in 131st (17:22) and senior Corey Driscoll in 141st (17:26) to round out the scoring. Junior Patrick Grant who had run aggressively early on (28th place at the mile in 4:53), finished off the day for the Explorers in 183rd place with a time of 17:49.

The Explorers return four of their competitors from the State Championship along with the PCL Junior Varsity and Freshman team champions for next year.
