Eighteen Students Recognized By The National Merit Scholarship Corporation

Five students were named as Semifinalists and an additional thirteen students were recognized as Commended Students.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced that eighteen seniors from La Salle College High School were recognized by the National Merit Program. Five students were named as Semifinalists in the 2016 competition for National Merit Scholarship Awards. Thirteen additional young men were recognized as Commended Students.

The National Merit Semifinalists are: Samuel Altier of Pipersville, PA; Joseph Gerngross of Ambler, PA; Liam Kelley of Lower Salford, PA; David Kennedy of Collegeville, PA; and Liam McLane of Lansdale, PA. These young men are among the top one percent high school students in the nation based on the results of the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test.

In addition, Alexander Sislo of Flourtown, PA; Colin Beveridge of Warminster, PA; Sean Diehl of Yardley, PA; Gianni DiGregorio of Furlong, PA; Gregory Galbreath of Huntingdon Valley, PA; Lucas Gregory of Southampton, PA; Seamus Heckard of North Wales, PA; Frederick Helmick of Fort Washington, PA; Austin Lordi of Lansdale, PA; Peter Macoretta of Philadelphia, PA; Conor McElroy of East Norriton, PA; Kyle Tokiwa of Jamison, PA; and Evan Wilt of Jenkintown, PA, have been recognized as National Merit Commended Students in the 2017 Competition.
