Former Hockey Player Chad Kolarik Named to US Olympic Team

Former La Salle College Hockey Forward Chad Kolarik (Abington, PA) has been named to the 2018 United States Olympic Hockey Team.
Originally drafted 199th overall in the 2004 NHL draft by the Phoenix Coyotes, the former Explorer is currently playing for Adler Mannheim of the Deutsche Eshockey Liga (DEL), the top professional hockey league in Germany. Through 32 games this season he has registered 31 points (19g, 12a).
Kolarik was a four-year standout for the University of Michigan after his time at LSCHS, amassing 174 points (78 goals, 96 assists). He helped lead U-M to two CCHA Tournament championships and was named All-CCHA first team and an AHCA West second team All-American during the 2007-08 season.
Prior to his time in Germany, Kolarik spent five seasons playing professionally in the United States, appearing in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers.
The XXIII Olympic Winter Games are set to begin on Feb. 9 in Pyeongchang County, South Korea. Team USA will kick off the preliminary rounds on Wednesday, Feb. 14, against Slovenia.
