The class of 2021 along with 150 of their fathers, and 30 members of the faculty once again "branched out" during La Salle's 16th annual Freshmen Branch-out Day Service on Tuesday, October 10th.

Over the past 15 years, the program has served as an introduction for over 4,000 La Salle students and some 2,000 of their dads to the core Lasallian principle of service to the less fortunate.

This year's day will have students working in 21 different Catholic Grade Schools, Community Outreach Centers, Homeless Shelters, Veteran's Organizations, Elderly Day Care Centers and Nursing Homes, and many more in Kensington, West Philadelphia, Center City and other underserved neighborhoods around the city.

After this introductory day of service, students will have no mandatory requirements to participate in service programs at La Salle, yet despite that, last year 85% of La Salle students voluntarily did so.
