Golf Team Advances to State Finals

The Explorers return to the finals of the Pennsylvania State Championship for the first time since 2013.

Fresh off of an 18-0-1 regular season and winning their 15th Philadelphia Catholic League Championship since 2000, the Golf Team posted eight of the top ten scores to capture the District 12 (City) Championship on October 10, 2017. The Explorers overall score of 301 was 26 strokes better than Saint Joseph's Prep and 59 strokes better than Archbishop Carroll. Senior Tim Lorenzo fired a 2-over par round of 73 at Bluestone Country Club in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania to repeat as the individual champion.

On October 12, 2017, La Salle defeated the District 11 Champions, Liberty High School from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, by a score of 304-326 to advance the finals of the Pennsylvania State Championship. Led by junior Matt Law who carded a 2-over par round of 73 at North Hills Country Club, the Explorers posted five scores under 80 (Frank Gregor - 76, Bud Hansen - 76, Tim Lorenzo - 79, and Steve Lorenzo - 79) to advance to the State Finals for the first time since 2013. La Salle will play for the for the State Championship on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York, PA.
