According to La Salle Football Historian Bill Wasylenko '69 - Saturday, September 9, 2017 may have been the most historic day on the college gridiron for La Salle Football Alumni:

  • Kyle Shurmur of Vanderbilt went 15-of-18 in the air for 202 yards and 4 touchdowns, and ran it in for a touchdown of his own
  • Winston Eubanks of Shippensburg caught touchdown passes of 30 and 38 yards; overall, he had 6 receptions for 173 yards
  • Ryan Brady of Holy Cross led the team with 10 tackles
  • Corbin Melle of Widener ran for an 8-yard touchdown, rushing 5 times for 48 yards, and catching one pass for 4 yards
  • Mike Raczak of Widener punted 4 times for a 42.0 yard average
  • Chris Ferguson of Maine had 8 completions in 17 tries for 150 yards and 3 touchdown passes
  • Nick Rinella of St. Francis led the team with 7 tackles, and snagged one interception
  • Chris Kane of Kutztown had one completion in two tosses for 4 yards, meaning that three different La Salle quarterbacks got game time on the same day, probably unprecedented
  • Jordan Meachum of Sacred Heart scored touchdowns of 1 and 22 yards, and rushed 14 times for 98 yards
  • Charles Headen of Shippensburg caught 2 passes for 22 yards
  • Ryan Winslow of Pitt punted 5 times for a 44.4 yard average, and was the holder for all placekicks
  • Jimmy Morrissey started at center for Pitt against Penn State, and had a good game for what I saw
  • Zaire Franklin led Syracuse with 7 tackles

Overall, La Salle alumni accounted for 13 touchdowns on Saturday. Send updates this season via our Twitter Account at www.twitter.com/LaSalle_Sports to keep the community updated this season!
