On Saturday, March 18, 2017 The Global Studies Club hosted their 4th Annual De La Salle Model UN. Students from nine Philadelphia area high schools convened on La Salle's campus to discuss and compete in such wide ranging topics as the humanitarian crisis in Syria, territorial disputes in the South China Sea and the nuclear crisis in North Korea. There was even a historical council where students assumed the identities of members of the Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain's cabinet in 1937 to discuss the situation in Europe at the time.

All participants were welcomed by guest speaker, Mr. Ed Fox, a member of the Department of Energy and a Senior Foreign Affairs Specialist in the field of Nuclear Nonproliferation. Mr. Fox spoke about North Korean nuclear aggression and the response by other nations.

In their final De La Salle MUN, senior class members Thomas Cawley, Michael Ewing and William Oxenford did an excellent job in planning and implementing a successful event.
