La Salle College High School sophomores Siqi Liu & Yuanchen Xu under the direction of faculty moderator Vishal Patel presented their paper entitled Drying SCR Catalyst Using Electro-Generated Hot Air, & accepted an invitation for La Salle to take part in the competition at the 2016 I/ITSEC, (World's Largest Modeling, Simulation & Training Conference).

Six secondary schools are selected to compete and are invited based on the quality of paper presented. The Future Leaders Pavilion provides a venue for school students to demonstrate technical projects they have developed which focus on modeling, simulation and training.

The Pavilion also enables the students to experience the sights, sounds and learning about high-end, critical technology only available at I/ITSEC. The caliber of student and projects are so high that some of the projects have won previously awarded national competitions. This is the second year La Salle College High School has competed at this venue.

The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC)is the world's largest modeling, simulation, and training conference. It consists of peer-reviewed paper presentations, tutorials, special events, professional workshops, a commercial exhibit hall, a serious games competition, and STEM events for teachers and secondary students.

I/ITSEC is organized by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA), which promotes international and interdisciplinary cooperation within the fields of modeling and simulation (M&S), training, education, analysis, and related disciplines at this annual meeting. The NTSA is an affiliate subsidiary of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Hence, I/ITSEC also emphasizes themes related to defense and security.
