Lacrosse Repeats As Philadelphia Catholic League Champions

The Explorers scored thirteen consecutive goals and held The Prep scoreless for the final 45 minutes of the game.

On Monday evening, May 22, 2017, Saint Joseph's Prep took advantage of four consecutive Explorer turnovers and jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but was held scoreless for the remaining 45 minutes of the game as La Salle College High School rallied to score thirteen consecutive goals in route to a 13-3 victory at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School. The Explorers repeated as champions and have now captured 21 of the last 25 Philadelphia Catholic League Championships in lacrosse. La Salle was led by senior Brett Baskin (3 goals, 2 assists), sophomore Joe Taylor (3 goals, 2 assists), senior Chris Hladczuk (2 goals, 2 assists), and junior Matt Clibanoff (2 goals) and will play for the District 12 City Championship on Wednesday evening, May 24, 2017 prior to beginning play in the PIAA State Tournament.
