The La Salle College High School Swim Team continued their reign atop the PIAA AAA Division by winning their 5th straight State Championship on Thursday, March 17th at Bucknell University.

The Explorers led the meet with 252 points, enabling La Salle to stay ahead of hard-charging Upper Dublin which finished second with 207.

Jake Sannem set a new PIAA State Record in the 500 freestyle, finishing at 4:19.64 and winning the race by eight seconds and surpassing the previous record of 4:22.21 set in 2009.

Teammates Joseph Vizza earned the silver in the 500, with Greg Brocato doing the same in the 100 freestyle. Jacob Lubinski earned seventh in the 100 back, Sean Finlay earned fifth in the 100 breast, and the 400 free relay picked up the silver.

The team dedicated the season and the State Championship to their late Head Coach Mr Frank Lichtner who led the Explorers to 25 Straight PCL and 4 PIAA AAA State Championships during his 25-year career as La Salle Swimming Head Coach.
