Tennis Team Wins 7th Consecutive PIAA District 12 City Championship

The Explorers will now face will Pennsbury on Tuesday, May 17th at 1:00pm at the Legacy Youth Tennis Center in East Falls in the PIAA State Playoffs.

The La Salle College High School Varsity Tennis Team defeated Public League Champion Central High School 4-1 to win the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District 12 - City Championship.

On the heels of their 10th straight PCL Championship, the Explorers now advance to the PIAA State Team Playoffs for the 7th consecutive season and will face Pennsbury on Tuesday, May 17th at 1:00pm at the Legacy Youth Tennis Center in East Falls.

In singles action, Andrew Lutschaunig defeated Ivan Dokov 6-2, 6-0. Jared Bunch fell to John Ruan in three sets 7-5, 0-6, 0-6. Michael DeAngelis defeated Anthony Goncharenko 6-3, 6-0.

In doubles action, Luke DeAngelis and Russell Newell defeated Philip Nguyen and Trevor Valentine 6-3, 6-4. Hugh Farris and Matt Bahr defeated Wylie Veasey and Louis Jiang 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
