For the 4th consecutive year, members of La Salle College High School's Television Station - WEXPTV - were selected for the KYW Newstudies Program.

Luke Crawford '17 and James Meyer '18 - members of the leadership team of the WEXPTV Morning News and students in our Multimedia Production Courses - completed the KYW Newstudies Program during four Saturday sessions in October at the KYW Studios in Downtown Philadelphia.

Since 1968, KYW Newsradio has given high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a major market radio station with the Newstudies student reporter program.

During the program, students head to the KYW Newsradio studios to learn newswriting, reporting, ethics and interviewing skills from station managers, editors, reporters, anchors and guest speakers. Then they research, write and record news stories about their school and community.

As a part of the program, the students toured KYW Studios, 94.1 WIP Studios and the CBS3 TV Studio. They also had the opportunity to produce a radio news story for KYW 1060 AM.

Crawford and Meyer join Chris Jastrzembski '14, Colin Friday '15, Carter Fillman '15, Pat Blewitt '16 & Chris Sanders '16 as WEXP alumni who have completed the KYW Program.

James feature story on the new La Salle Student Center and Luke's feature story on the Swimming Team's National Championship will air on KYW on November 20th.
