Welcome to the La Salle College High School Swimming and Diving Program Website.
The La Salle Swimming and Diving program is one of the most successful in the area. It has maintained over the years a tradition of excellence resulting from student-athletes and coaches dedicated to the sport, their team, and their school. La Salle has won the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) AAA State Championship five years in a row. The team was also named the 2016 National High School Championship Team.
In addition to the state and national recognition, the team has also won 29 consecutive Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) Championships and nine straight PIAA District 12 Championships since joining in 2009.

The Explorers now prepare for the championship season with the PCL and District 12 championship meets to be held at La Salle University on Friday and Saturday, February 15th and 16th.
Two coaches, three players, and an entire program were inducted into the school's Hall of Athletics.
The PIAA State Championships will be on TV on PCN on March 14th & 15th.
The Explorers also won their 10th Straight PIAA District XII Championship and will compete in the State Championships on March 14th & 15th.

The Explorers will compete in seven varsity sports (five PIAA Sports) this Winter season.
The Explorers were named to the All-American Team based on their performances at the 2017 PIAA State Championships in March.

The 5-time defending State Champions also won their 9th straight PIAA District XII Title.
At the last home meet for the swim team, pool records were broken again by team captain Jake Sannem '17. Jake broke his own 50 free record from earlier in the season with a time of 21:44. Jake also broke the 100 free record formerly held by Teddy Walker '09. The new pool record for the 100 free is 45:87.

The Athletic Department offers seven varsity-level sports during the Winter Sports Season.
Thirteen seniors committed to play college athletics.
After winning a 5th straight PIAA State Championship, the Explorers were named the 2016 National Champions by Swimming World Magazine.
The 10th place finish nationally is the best finish in school history for the 5-time defending PIAA State Champions. Seven Explorers were also named All-Americans.
The junior swimmer who won the State Championship in the 500 Freestyle, also captured an Olympic Trial cut for the 200 Freestyle and will be competing at the Olympic Trials this summer.
La Salle will compete for two Pennsylvania State Championships.
Explorers win Philadelphia Catholic League Championships in Indoor Track and Field, Swimming, and Bowling along with the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival.

The PCL Championships will take place February 12th & 13th at La Salle University.
Legendary coach Lichtner was honored with a Moment of Silence prior to the start of the meet.
Mr. Frank Lichtner taught and coached swimming at La Salle for 25 years. His Explorer Swimming Teams won the PCL Championship every season he was the head coach.
