Two La Salle College High School students, Alex Fang '19 and Tyler Liu '18, presented their paper titled "A Performance Survey on Stack-based and Register-based Virtual Machines," at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) held in Orlando, Florida last week. After going through a sequence of judgements and a presentation, their paper won the first prize of I/ITSEC's Future Leaders Pavilion.

The paper was also submitted to and accepted by arXiv.org, an e-print repository of scientific papers administrated by Cornell University Library. ArXiv, originally created as a Physics e-print collective by Los Alamos National Laboratory, is viewed as the most prominent e-print collective in areas related to Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Biology, Quantitative Finance and Statistics, with over 8000 paper submissions each month. The paper can be viewed at https://arxiv.org/abs/1611.00467.

The I/ITSE Conference is held each year at Orlando, Florida at the end of November. Being the largest conference on the modeling, simulation and training industry, the I/ITSEC combines a strong military-oriented focus with the approach of presenting cutting-edge technology. Each year, various companies such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Rockwell Collins and related individuals from technology firms and armed forces around the globe take part in this 4-day conference. Various peer-reviewed papers related to Computer/Information Science, Psychology, and the general area of training and simulation get presented and judged.
