Joseph Heidt '13 and Timothy McAuliffe '14 Receive Awards at NCFL National Speech and Debate Finals
Seven students from La Salle College High School qualified to represent Philadelphia at the National Catholic Forensics League (NCFL) National Speech and Debate Finals in Baltimore, MD over Memorial Day Weekend. Over 2100 students qualified to compete at the national finals, representing 68 diocese around the country.
Sophomore Timothy McAuliffe '14 advanced to the Quarterfinal Round in Oratorical Declamation and placed 13th in the country. Junior Joseph Heidt '13 advanced to the Semifinal Round of Congressional Debate and placed in the top 48 nationally.
Robert Gormisky '13 and Daniel Spinelli '14 each had winning records of 3-2 in Lincoln Douglas Debate while the team of Kevin Gay '14 and Andrew Durkin '14 had a 3-2 record in Policy Debate.
