The La Salle College High School Varsity Baseball Team defeated Hatboro-Horsham High School 7-5 in the PIAA AAAA State Semifinals on Monday, June 11, 2012 to advance to the 1st PIAA State Championship Game in Program History.
In the State Semifinal, Senior Kevin Long struck out 5 in 6 innings, and sophomore Dom Cuoci picked up the save. Senior P.J. Acierno led the offense going 2-4 with 4 RBIs, including a two-run triple in the 4th inning.
The Explorers will face Council Rock South in the PIAA AAAA State Championship Game on Friday, June 15th at 1 PM at Lubrano Park on the campus of Penn State University. La Salle improves to 23-3 on the season while the Golden Hawks enter the State Championship game with a 23-2 record after shutting out Altoona 4-0 in the other State Semifinal matchup.
