The accomplishments of the La Salle College High School student body were celebrated on Friday, September 21, 2012 with the Annual Awards Assembly held in the school gymnasium.
Academically, 129 students had a ‘Final GPA’ last year of a 4.0 or better. This included 56 seniors, 41 juniors, and 32 sophomores.
La Salle's Advanced Placement Program provides students with the opportunity to challenge themselves with college-level courses in 18 different subject areas this year and then the opportunity to prove their academic mettle on A.P. exams which are administered annually in May. The results from last year were record breaking. 117 La Salle students were named by the College Board as Advanced Placement Scholars.
Certificates of Participation in various clubs and activities were issued to 239 students in the Class of 2013, 220 students in the Class of 2014 and 191 in the Class of 2015.
Last year La Salle students, faculty, and staff delivered nearly 18,000 hours of service to the local community and under-served communities across the country, in the Caribbean, and Latin America.
Over 50% of our juniors and seniors (250+) took part in one of our summer service immersion trips to such diverse places as Appalachia; The Navajo Nation; St. Lucia; The Blackfeet Nation; Gulf Coast; Bolivia; and right here in Philadelphia. In addition we added new weekly programs offering increased opportunities to serve, and eight of our sports teams came together as well for self-initiated service programs.
And in athletics, the 2011 – 2012 School Year included the following accomplishments:
PCL Championships in: Soccer, Football, Golf, Wrestling, Swimming, Tennis and Lacrosse
District 12 City Championships in : Soccer, Football, Wrestling, Swimming, Tennis, Lacrosse and Baseball
Flyers’ Cup Championship in Ice Hockey
State Championships in Ice Hockey, Swimming and Baseball
In addition 153 students received All- Catholic honors & 6 Swimmers were named All Americans
