Senior Josh Graham starred in the lead role of Paul Batter in three performances of Neil Simon’s Barefoot In The Park, which was played to audiences at La Salle College High School from October 26 – 28, 2012.
The Tony Award winning classic featured the talents of Josh Graham and junior John Schoenewald in addition to supporting and cameo roles by seniors Mark Chandler and Dan DeBrakeleer. The female cast consisted of Ann Marie Maloney, a junior at Gwynedd-Mercy Academy along with Victorie Tralies, a junior at Saint Basil’s Academy.
Neil Simon's 1963 comedy focuses on newlyweds Corie and Paul Bratter and their adventures living in a minuscule sixth floor walk-up apartment in a Greenwich Village brownstone. Stuffed-shirt Paul is a hard-working young attorney just starting his practice, while spontaneous and free spirited bride Corie is determined to create a romantic environment in their one room with no heat, a hole in the skylight, and oddball neighbors.
Based on Neil Simon’s own first marriage and apartment in The Village, Barefoot in the Park is Neil Simon's longest running show (1530 performances), and the tenth longest running non-musical, in the history of Broadway. The original production starred Robert Redford as Paul Bratter, and won a Tony Award for Mike Nichols, as Best Director.
