Jack Bauerle '70, Ed Solvibile '58, and Bro. Michael McGinnis, FSC '65 to be Inducted into the La Salle College High School Alumni Hall of Fame
The La Salle College High School Alumni Association will induct three new members into the Alumni Hall of Fame: Olympic Swimming Coach Jack Bauerle '70, business leader Ed Solvibile '58, and La Salle University President Bro. Michael McGinnis, FSC '65. The induction will take place during the annual Alumni Communion Breakfast on Sunday March, 7, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the La Salle College High School Gymnasium and Auditorium. Jack Bauerle ’70 is the Head Coach of the University of Georgia Men’s and Women’s Swimming Teams. He was the Head Coach of the U.S. Women’s Swimming Team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and was the Assistant Coach of U.S. Women’s Swimming Team at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Bauerle has received several awards over the years, including Southeastern Conference (SEC) Coach of the Year and NCAA Women’s Coach of the Year. He is the SEC’s Winningest Coach and third-winningest coach in NCAA history.
Ed Solvibile '58 was the President and CEO of Mercy Suburban Hospital after holding positions of Vice President, Treasurer, and CEO of Suburban General Hospital. Solvibile was also President of Pennsylvania Osteopathic Hospital Association and serves on the Board of Directors for several health care institutions including the American Red Cross, Maternity Care Coalition, and Foundation of Osteopathic Health Services. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Health Care Council. He is a loyal supporter of La Salle and is an active member of the Board of Directors for La Salle College High School and La Salle Academy.
Bro. Michael McGinnis, FSC '65 is currently the President of La Salle University and was previously the President of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN. Prior to his presidencial tenures, Bro. Michael was a professor and Religion Department Chair at La Salle University where he received the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award and was appointed Vice President of La Salle University Corporation. He serves as the North American Regional Director of the International Association of Lasallian Universities and is an active board member of several institutions including the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania, the American University in Rome, Manhattan College, the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition, and the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. BRo. Michael is also a devoted member of the Board of Trustees at both La Salle University and La Salle College High School.
