Nine Wrestlers Take First in the PCL Individual Championships and Eleven Advance to District 12 Individual Championship
Nine wrestlers from La Salle College High School took first place at the Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) Individual Championships. As a team, La Salle earned 247 points, more than any other school in the PCL.
The Explorer who took first place honors were Bryan Pflanz '12 (112 lbs.), Casey Kent '12 (125 lbs.), Matt Cimato '12 (130 lbs.), Joey Mazzi '11 (135 lbs.), Shane Springer '12 (152 lbs.), Nick Burns '11 (160 lbs.), C.J. Burns '10 (171 lbs.), P.J. Steinmetz '13 (189 lbs.), and Ryan Geiger '11 (285 lbs.). The nine first place finishers, along with Roger Woerhle '11 (4th at 119 lbs.) and Jack Carmody '10 (3rd at 145 lbs.) advance to next week's Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District 12 Individual Championships to be held at La Salle College High School on February 27, 2010.
