La Salle Holds Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to Benefit St. Vincent's Parish in Germantown
With Thanksgiving only a few weeks away, the La Salle College High School Campus Ministry Team and the Lasallian Service Corps are organizing the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. Last year, almost 10,000 cans and non-perishable items were collected to benefit St. Vincent's Parish in Germantown. This year, we are trying to surpass that goal by getting the word out early to parents, students, faculty, staff, and the entire La Salle Community. With everyone's support, we can make Thanksgiving special for countless families who would otherwise have nothing. On any given night, more than 13 million children in the U.S. go to bed hungry.

The food drive will run from Tuesday, November 15, 2011 to Tuesday, November 22, 2011. There will be collection baskets and boxes in each homeroom and a tally will be kept throughout the week. Please check your pantries, pick up an extra can here and there at the store, and in this time of Thanksgiving, think of those less fortunate. Dontations should be limited to: Cranberry Sauce, Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruit, Instant Potatoes, Boxes of Pasta, Canned Tuna, Peanut Butter & Jelly, and other non-perishable items.
If you have any questions regarding the Thanksgiving Food Drive, please contact your homeroom Lasallian Service Corps Representative, Mr. Devlin, or Mr. Clark.
