Athletics play a significant role in student life at La Salle College High School. Whether as a participant or a spectator, each student experiences a sense of pride, excitement and accomplishment. Over 50% of the student body actively participates in our extensive 18-sport program over 40 teams across the Varsity, JV, and Freshman Levels.
La Salle belongs to the Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL), a highly competitive group of 14 schools from the Greater Philadelphia area.(Remove the following) broken down into two geographical divisions (La Salle is in the North Division) in all sports except football in which the schools are divided by size (La Salle is in the AAAA Division) . In the 2008-09 season, the PCL joined the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletics Association (PIAA) as a part of District 12.
La Salle Athletic Teams have a tradition of excellence having won nine PIAA State Championships in Swimming (4) Baseball (2), Football (1) and Lacrosse (2) and finished as State Finalists in Basketball, Football, Lacrosse and Swimming since joining the state association in 2009. In addition, La Salle has won over 80 championships in 18 sports over the last 10 years and 196 PCL championships in school history, more than any other school in the Philadelphia Catholic League.
