The de La Salle Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) officially welcomed 118 new members on April 12 at the annual NHS Induction Ceremony.

Joining the 106 La Salle seniors who were inducted previously, the 118 new members were accepted into this prestigious society, which is based on the pillars of Scholarship, Service, Character, and Leadership. As is the tradition, Brother Jim Butler and Principal Jim Fyke conferred the ceremonial membership pin to each new inductee as a display of achievement.

To be accepted into the NHS at La Salle, students must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.75, perform a breadth of service over the course of their high school experience, demonstrate a variety of leadership roles, and exhibit exceptional character.

The de la Salle Chapter of the National Honor Society exists to promote scholarship, service, leadership, and character among high school students. Membership is open to students who have completed at least five semesters at La Salle and who exhibit the qualities of the four pillars to an exceptional degree.
