For the 9th consecutive year, members of La Salle College High School's Media Network - WEXPtv - were selected for the KYW Newstudies Program.
Danny Rovi '24, Raymond Gomez '22 and William Gomez '22- members of the leadership team of the WEXPtv Media Program and students enrolled in our Multimedia Production Courses - completed the KYW Newstudies Program during four Saturday sessions in October at the KYW Studios in Downtown Philadelphia.
Since 1968, KYW Newsradio has given high school sophomores, juniors and seniors the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a major market radio station with the Newstudies student reporter program.
During the program, students head to the KYW Newsradio studios to learn newswriting, reporting, ethics and interviewing skills from station managers, editors, reporters, anchors and guest speakers. Then they research, write and record news stories about their school and community.
As a part of the program, the students toured KYW Studios, 94.1 WIP Studios and the CBS3 TV Studio. They also had the opportunity to produce a radio news story for KYW 1060 AM.
Danny's feature will air on KYW Newsradio at Thursday November 18th at 7:54 PM, Will's on November 24th at 7:17 PM and Ray's on November 26th at 7:17 PM.
