La Salle College High School hosted an Arts Night on Monday, October 19, 2020 in the tents on Meehan Field. Families were able to participate in digital music demonstrations from the Music Business and Technology (MBAT) Program as well as experience painting, drawing, and sculpture. The evening opened with remarks from Kevin Dougherty ‘00, Dean of Enrollment Management, and an introduction to the Music Program by Christopher Mele ’13, the school’s Director of Bands. The award-winning Jazz Band opened the program with Brain Freeze, a funky Latin/pop original featuring solos by seniors Nick Fuchs and Griffin Steinman. The String Ensemble, under the direction of the legendary Joseph (Mr. C) Ciccimaro ’57, performed a piece by Beethoven. Sophomore Harrison Karsch performed Ramblin Man by The Allman Brothers and senior Emmet Young performed his speech. In addition, attendees heard from several students and many of the school’s seventeen instructors in the Fine Arts Department were on hand to answer questions. The evening concluded with Sabor de Cuba performed by the Jazz Band.
