#EveryCanCounts this year as we support local communities in need as well as Saint Vincent's Parish, Joan of Ark, our Homeless Outreach Program and Philabundance through the Preston and Steve's Campout For Hunger.
Our #EveryCanCounts Thanksgiving Food Drive led by our Ministry and Service Team collected 28,588 non-perishable food items from November 19-26 to break the school-record for the amount of items received in the annual drive.
The Food Drive started in 2009 with a collection of over 7,000 items - a amazing outpouring of support over the last decade helped us set a new record this year.
Twenty-one homerooms collected over 500 cans each, with homeroom 10B collecting a record 2,512 items.
The items collected will help many of those in need this holiday season, including - St. Vincent's Parish in Germantown, St. Joan of Arc Parish, and our own Homeless Outreach Program.
In addition - due to the immense amount of support of the drive - La Salle will be donating 12,500 items to Philabundance through the annual WMMR Preston and Steve Campout for Hunger.
Students will be delivering the items on Tuesday, December 3rd - listen for the Explorers on the 93.3 FM that morning live from XFinity Live! For more information, visit: https://wmmr.com/event/preston-steves-camp-out-for-hunger/.
Thank You to the #LSCHS Community for truly making "Every Can Count" this year:
