The La Salle community has responded. A total of 777 donations and pledges were received in response to the Guardian Angel Appeal. They came from La Salle men across nearly three-quarters of a century. The oldest donors were from the Class of 1950 and the youngest in the Class of 2023. In addition, groups such as the Mothers’ Club, the Men of La Salle, the Alumni Association, the Alumnae Mothers, the Soccer Team, Rugby 7s, Baseball Team, Rugby 15s, and the Lacrosse team along with parents and the Christian Brothers Community have all contributed. An incredible number of our faculty and staff, 113 at the moment, have made gifts and pledges supporting their vulnerable students through this fund. Among alumni, two classes, the Classes of 1965 and 1969, are tied for second place in the number of members donating. The hands down leader at present is the Class of 2020, with our newest alumni making over 80 generous gifts.
In total, the La Salle family has raised just over $717,550 for a fund that will have a huge impact on families getting back on their feet over the next two years. The Guardian Angel Fund Committee has already met to make awards from this fund based on the documentation provided by La Salle families.
We will conclude solicitations for this fund on May 31, 2020. If you have yet to support the fund, please consider doing so by then. To see all of the ways you can participate in the Guardian Angel Campaign, please visit www.lschs.org/guardianangel
