This course is designed to instruct students in the area of recording technology, as well as engineering, mixing, and mastering music. The first semester will focus on the correct use of microphones (techniques, placement, selection), Garage Band, Pro Tools, and other related recording software. After students have a good understanding of the tools, they will focus on a collaborative project that consists of recording, mastering, and engineering their own EP using musicians from La Salle's music department or midi instruments/samples/patches. That collaborative project will be completed by the end of the second semester. A student does not have to be a part of the music program to take this course. Ask your counselor today!
