La Salle College High School's Tucker Durkin '09 was selected third overall by the Charlotte Hounds in the 2013 Major League Lacrosse Draft on January 12, 2013.

The senior defensemen from Johns Hopkins was a First Team USILA All-American and the Schmeisser Award winner as the nation's top defensive player as a junior. He is the seventh Johns Hopkins player to be selected in the top four and the first Blue Jay defenseman to go in the top four. Durkin had previously earned Third Team All-America honors as a sophomore.

On January 25th, the Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse announced a blockbuster trade with Hamilton that gives the team the rights to three additional draftees from the 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft in exchange for Durkin.

Per the deal, the Hounds send first-round pick (3rd overall) Durkin (D, Johns Hopkins) to the Hamilton Nationals in exchange for John Haus (M, Maryland), Casey Carroll (D, Duke) and Jake Tripucka (M, Duke).
