Lacrosse Team Defeats Garden City In Battle of Nationally Ranked Programs
La Salle defeated Garden City 7-4. The Explorers entered the game ranked 3rd and Garden City entered the game ranked 5th in the most recent Inside Lacrosse/Under Armour National Rankings.

The La Salle College High School Varsity Lacrosse Team defeated Garden City, NY 7-4 on Saturday, March 30th to snap Garden City's 24-game win Streak. The Trojans finished the 2012 season ranked number one after an undefeated season.
The Explorers entered the game ranked 3rd and Garden City entered the game ranked 5th in the most recent Inside Lacrosse/Under Armour National Rankings.
Matt Rambo scored just 10 seconds into the second half to break a 2-2 tie and the Explorers led the rest of the way.
Rambo made it 4-2 minutes later and after the Trojans drew within 4-3 Mike Rihm made it 5-3.

Garden City drew within one goal late in the third period, but again Rambo struck, this time with a nifty feed to Stephen Hudak (two goals) for the goal that gave La Salle breathing room. Adam Schaal later iced it.
Goalie Nick Hreshko had six saves to help preserve the victory.
