Tennis Teams Wins 5th Consecutive City Championship
The Explorers now advance to the PIAA State Team Playoffs starting on May 13th.

The La Salle College High School Varsity Tennis Team defeated Public League Champion Central High School 5-0 to win the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District 12 - City Championship.

In singles action, Pete DeWitt defeated Ivan Dokov 6-0, 6-0. Ryan Abell defeated Tyrel Cherry in three sets 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. Charlie Newell defeated Avery Mitchell 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles action, Franz Wagner and Eric Bunting defeated Richard Kim and Jason Taing 6-3, 6-1. Jared Bunch and Luke DeAngelis defeated Phil Nguyen and Trevor Valentine 6-3, 6-1.

With the team win, the Explorers advance to the PIAA State Team Playoffs for the 5th straight season. They will play the #4 seed from District 1 at 11:30am on Tuesday, May 13th at the Legacy Youth Tennis and Education Center (formerly Arthur Ashe) in East Falls.
