On Saturday, March 21, 2015 the Global Studies Club of La Salle College High School hosted the 2nd Annual De La Salle Model United Nations. Over 120 students from eight area schools attended the event.

Students were given assignments to represent nations of the world in simulated United Nations committees. Topics of discussion in these committees ranged from International Cyberterrorism and Nuclear Non-Proliferation with Iran to the Syrian refugee crisis and development goals for the new millennium. Students also had the opportunity to stretch their creative talents and historical knowledge in a mock League of Nations Council.

The opening ceremonies of the day included a special presentation from Mr. Edward Fox who works for the U.S. Department of Energy. Mr. Fox, who is a senior foreign affairs specialist, spoke to the students about nuclear relations between the United States and Iran.

Over twenty La Salle students participated in the day's activities, many of whom were recognized by the council chairs for their analytic and debating skills.
