AutoCAD Students Design Houses Using SketchUP Software
AUTOcad is one of over 20 electives offered in the Information Sciences and Technology Department Curriculum.
As part of the Advanced CAD course taught by Mr. Patrick Rose, students are assigned a design project involving surveying, 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
The project begins with a rough hand sketch of a house plan and then taken into AutoCAD for final documentation. After the 2D presentation is complete students are asked to develop a full scale 3D model in SketchUP, set up scenes and export a short movie clip.
