Golf Team Captures the Philadelphia Catholic League Championship
On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, the Explorers knocked-off the defending State Champions and won their 13th Philadelphia Catholic League Championship since 2000 by defeating Saint Joseph's Prep 465-474 (Lansdale Catholic 531, Roman Catholic 533). Senior Eric Carlidge won the individual championship with a low round of 73 at J.C. Melrose Country Club. It was the first time an Explorer took Medalist honors since 2008. La Salle had five of the top ten scores - Carlidge (73) followed by seniors Rich Vanni (77), Seamus Gibbons (77), Troy Thierolf (77), and Phil Held (79). All eight golfers playing for La Salle that day were All-Catholic selections, including Brent Schoeller (82), Billy Matthews (83), and Hugh Farris (83). La Salle moves on to play in the District 12 (City) Championships on October 13, 2015 on the South Course at Philmont Country Club.
