John Butler '91 Inducted Into the Hall of Athletics
John Butler '91, a former three-sport All-Catholic and the current Defensive Backs Coach for the Houston Texans, was inducted into the Hall of Athletics during a special ceremony.
At a special induction ceremony held in the Auditorium on Saturday, September 24, 2016, John E. Butler '91 was inducted into the school's Hall of Athletics.
John Butler is a member of the Class of 1991. He was a three-year member of the Varsity Football Team and a two-time All-Catholic selection. He was a defensive stalwart on the 1989 team that won the Philadelphia Catholic Championship and participated in the Montgomery County All-Star Game. As a three-year member of the Varsity Basketball Team that captured three consecutive Northern Division Championships, he started his junior and senior years and was an All-Catholic selection. He played Varsity Baseball for two years and, in 1991, was a First Team All-Catholic and Carpenter Cup selection. He has been a football coach at the collegiate and professional levels for over twenty years and holds the distinction of being not only a three-sport athlete, but also an All-Catholic selection in three different sports. He joins the Hall of Athletics with all three of the coaches for whom he played.
