On Wednesday evening, January 31, 2018, the College Counseling Department at La Salle College High School hosted their annual College Information Night for the parents of juniors - nearly 400 parents were in attendance.

The College Counseling Department covered a broad range of topics including the importance of student engagement, standardized testing, test optional colleges, NCAA guidelines, Group Advisory Syllabus, forms of communication, the application process, junior/senior timeline, Early Action/Early Decision, the current national state of college admissions, finding the best college fit, an admissions case study, as well as an overview of the La Salle College High School College Counseling Website and an exploration of Naviance and SCOIR. Parents were also encouraged to follow the various social media options - Twitter @LSCHScollege, Facebook LSCHS - College Counseling, Instagram lschscollege.

The College Counseling Department's goal is to assist each of the young men in exploring, applying, and deciding upon their chosen colleges. All of the college counseling activities are meant to build upon previous experiences, thus reducing stress as much as possible as the college exploration, application, and decision processes require many stages of reflection, discernment, and action.
