On Wednesday evening, February 3, 2016, the College Counseling Department at La Salle College High School hosted their annual College Information Night for the parents of juniors. Over 220 families and nearly 400 parents were in attendance. The College Counseling Department covered a broad range of topics including the importance of student engagement, the Redesigned SAT, ACT, Group Advisory Syllabus, forms of communication, the application process, junior/senior timeline, and Early Action/Early Decision, as well as an overview of the La Salle College High School counseling website and exploration of Naviance. The College Counseling Department's goal is to assist each of the young men on exploring, applying, and deciding upon their chosen colleges. All of the college counseling activities are meant to build upon previous experiences, thus reducing stress as much as possible as the college exploration, application, and decision processes require many stages of reflection, discernment, and action.
