This past weekend, the La Salle College High School Robotics Team (5181) competed in a district qualifier at Hatboro-Horsham High School.

After 10 qualification matches the team was ranked 14th out of the 36 teams attending the event. This placed 5181 in a position to be an alliance captain for the playoff quarterfinals.

Led by senior Kyle Mulligan, La Salle Robotics invited Redbird Robotics (FRC 1807) and the Atomic Dragons (FRC 3929) to join the 8th seed alliance. In a best of three match-up against the #1 seed, the Explorers won two matches in succession to move on to the semifinals for the first time in the team's 4 year history.

The first semifinal match was lost 255-220. The second match of the semifinals featured senior Jack Henry driving Albie the robot to a buzzer beater rope climb to win the match. Finally, the third match was dropped 256-145 to end the team's playoff run.

La Salle Robotics is not finished with the 2017 season, you can catch them March 18-19 at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy as they look to improve on their success this season. Follow the team's progress in the district standings here. Admission to the event is free.
