Rugby Alumns Return to the Pitch

The La Salle Rugby team recently hosted its first ever and hopefully first annual Old Boys Alumni Match. The event was a huge success and over 30 Explorer ruggers participated in the event. Although the rugby program at La Salle is only 3 years old, the event drew in graduates as far back as the class of '84, '89, '92 and '02, who picked up the game in college and came back to test their skills and play with and against graduates from the last three years. Custom jerseys were made up and teams were divided evenly which resulted in terrific completion and great fun for all. White defeated gold 35-24 in the well fought match. Many parents, current players, and supporters of the program attended the event and shared in the fun with a post-game cookout. The rugby program looks forward to hosting more alumni events in the future including the 2nd annual golf tournament in the Fall and more alumni games to come. Thanks to all those who played in and attended the game.

We know you're out there! If you're an alumnus who picked up rugby somewhere along the way, please contact Coach Derrick ( to be added to our rugby alumni list.
