Senior Parents Attend College Counseling Q & A Night

Parents of the Class of 2019 packed the La Salle College High School Auditorium Tuesday evening for the annual Senior Parent Q & A Night hosted by the College Counseling Department.
Parents were asked to submit questions in advance, and the College Counselors addressed those questions in their overall presentation.
Mr. Gerard M. Brett, the Director of College Counseling, began the evening with an introduction of the staff and the breadth of their experience in the field of college admissions. He also explained the importance of communication and engaged students as well as the roles of the student, parents, and College Counseling Department in the application process. He also gave an update on the state of admissions on the national level.
Mrs. Marla Stalone-Johnson, Associate Director of College Counseling, discussed important dates and deadlines, the college admissions timeline in detail, and how the students should use Naviance to sign up to meet with any of the 170+ college representatives who will visit La Salle this fall.
Mr. Jim Sawyer, Associate Director of College Counseling, reviewed information regarding SATs and ACTs, the difference between Early Action, Early Decision, Regular Admission, and Rolling Admission, as well as the application process here at La Salle (http://www.lschs.org/academics/college-counseling/process)
