WEXPtv Producer Jason Bempah '18 Completes KYW Newstudies Program

This is the 5th consecutive year a student involved with WEXPtv has completed the KYW Newstudies Program.

For the 5th consecutive year, a member of La Salle College High School's Television Station - WEXPTV - was selected for the KYW Newstudies Program.

Jason Bempah '18 - a member of WEXPtv and our Sports Information Club also a student in our Advanced Multimedia Production Course - completed the KYW Newstudies Program during four Saturday sessions in October at the KYW Studios in Downtown Philadelphia.

Since 1968, KYW Newsradio has given high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a major market radio station with the Newstudies student reporter program.

During the program, students head to the KYW Newsradio studios to learn newswriting, reporting, ethics and interviewing skills from station managers, editors, reporters, anchors and guest speakers. Then they research, write and record news stories about their school and community.

As a part of the program, the students toured KYW Studios, 94.1 WIP Studios and the CBS3 TV Studio. They also had the opportunity to produce a radio news story for KYW 1060 AM.

Bempah joins Chris Jastrzembski '14, Colin Friday '15, Carter Fillman '15, Pat Blewitt '16, Chris Sanders '16, Luke Crawford '17 & James Meyer '18 as WEXP alumni who have completed the KYW Program.

Jason's feature story on the La Salle Multimedia Program aired on KYW on December 2nd and is available online at
